Lesson 1 Objectives: Frequency & Equalization

1. Identify and explain the role of frequency in audio perception.
2. Students will learn about the different frequency ranges.
3. Understand and apply different types of EQ (parametric, graphic, shelving) to shape audio.
4. Recognize and correct common frequency issues in a mix, such as muddiness, sibilance or harshness.
5. Demonstrate the ability to use EQ to balance the tonal quality of individual tracks within a mix.
6. Students will develop their critical listening skills by learning to identify the sonic quality of different frequency ranges.
